What We Collect
FamilyEats collects only the information needed to provide our meal planning service:
- Account information (name, email) when you sign up
- Dietary preferences and household details you provide
- Recipes, meal plans, and grocery lists you create
- Product usage, authentication, and notification events used for reliability

How We Use It
Your data is used solely to power your meal planning experience — generating meal plans, managing recipes, and creating grocery lists. We do not sell your data to third parties.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services:
- Google, Facebook, Apple, and Pinterest — for sign-in or connected account features you choose to use
- Supabase — to securely store your data
- Vercel — to host the application
- Upstash — for rate limiting and background job delivery
- SendGrid — for transactional email
- Anthropic— we send recipe ingredient text to Anthropic's Claude API to normalize and standardize ingredients when building your grocery list (for example, deduplicating items)
- Instacart — when you choose to shop your grocery list, the list items are shared with Instacart to build your cart for grocery fulfillment
- Expo — for mobile push notifications
- PostHog and Sentry — for product analytics, error reporting, and reliability monitoring
- GoHighLevel — for launch-cohort customer communication
